The
Rotary Foundation was established by the Rotary Club
as an educational and charitable endowment. Millions
of Rotarians in more than 24,000 clubs in over 165 lands
supervise projects to focus attention on world problems.
Among
the projects are scholarships to cover necessary travel,
housing, food, tuition and other educational expenses;
grants to fund large-scale projects which include agri-forestry,
health care, education, treatment and rehabilitation,
food production and distribution, community development,
vocational training and literacy.
Rotary
has pledged to furnish all the polio vaccine needed
to eliminate Poliomyelitis as a threat to the lives
and health of the world's children.
The
group study exchange program enables teens of business
and professionals in different countries to exchange
visits to develop international friendships and to study
the business, cultural and political systems of the
host country.
The
Rotary peace forum is designed to examine the role that
individual Rotarians, Rotary and o-governmental organizations
can play in the achievements of peace.
This
program offers a series of international conference
focused on issues related to conflict resolution and
public participation in peacemaking.
The
Rotary Club of the Westbank has offered on-going scholarships
which assist the young people of our community in obtaining
the higher education necessary for the future.
We
also contribute to the following organizations: Gretna
Police Benevolent Society, Twilight Gardens, St. Anthony
Dad's Club, Gretna Coached Association, St. Cletus Knights
of Columbus, VFW Post 64, Our Lady of Holy Cross College,
Rotary International Foundation, boys State and Girls
State.
The
Westbank Rotary Club would like to invite everyone to
